Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 13, 2010) — The JBU men’s basketball team improved to 6-0 on Saturday afternoon after defeating Central Baptist (Ark.) 70-61 in non-conference action.

Sam Bartlett had 15 points and seven boards to lead the Golden Eagles. He was followed by Adrian Miller with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal. And Coleson Rakestraw added 12 after going 3-for-5 from long range.

Tommy Wilson led CBC (1-3) with 17 points after canning 5-of-8 from long distance.

After leading 38-27 at the break, JBU allowed CBC to make a run and take a one point, 49-48 lead with 12:13 remaining in the game. JBU wouldn’t be rattled, however, and managed to regroup and go up by nine and hold on for the win.

As a team JBU shot 53% (23-43) from the floor, while holding CBC to 46% (20-44). JBU dominated the glass taking a 35-20 rebounding edge.

JBU returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Muskogee, Okla. to take on Bacone College. JBU defeated Bacone 95-65.
