Women's soccer slated to face William Carey in opening round
Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 15, 2010) — The JBU women’s soccer team found out on Sunday night that their opening round opponent for the 2010 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship will be William Carey University out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
William Carey received an at-large berth into this year’s tournament and comes in as a ninth seed with an overall record of 12-4-3. This is the Lady Crusaders’ fourth appearance in the national tournament. Their last appearance was in 2009 when they fell to Graceland (Iowa) 1-4 in the Sweet Sixteen. They have an overall record of 2-4-0 in national tournament matches.
This will be the Lady Golden Eagles’ second appearance in the National Championship. Their first appearance was in 2005 when the ladies fell to Bethel (Tenn.) 1-3 in the opening round.
The match will take place on Saturday at William Carey. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
