Women’s basketball dominates Lady Rangers

Alva, Okla. (December 4, 2010) — Sophomore Anna Parish posted 14 points to lead the JBU women’s basketball team to a 76-65 win over Northwestern Okla. State on Saturday night in Alva. The win improves the ladies to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Senior Katie Mangels added 13 points and four rebounds for the Lady Eagles. And sophomore Jordyn Ferrell rounded out the double-digit scoring effort with 11 points.

Audrey Richmond had 23 points to lead NWOSU (5-3, 1-2).

JBU led 33-27 at halftime and managed to pull away in the second half to secure the 11 point win.

For the game, JBU shot 44.4 percent (24-for-54) while holding NWOSU to 36.2 percent (25-for-69).

JBU took the rebounding edge 43-39 but committed 15 turnovers while forcing only nine.

The ladies return home to take on Rogers State (Okla.) on Saturday, December 11 at 1 p.m. before heading into the Christmas break.
