JBU Welcomes Franklin Graham to Chapel

Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 11, 2011) — John Brown University is pleased to welcome Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, to speak at a special chapel service on Tuesday, Jan. 18 in the Bill George Arena. Doors open at 9:45 a.m.; chapel starts at 10:30 a.m.

Franklin Graham has devoted his life to meeting the needs of people around the world and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Under his leadership, Samaritan's Purse has met the needs of suffering people in more than 100 countries. As an evangelist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, he has led crusades around the world. In 2011, he will participate in festivals in Haiti, India, Africa, Milwaukee, Wis. and Denver, Colo.

Graham has visited JBU on multiple occasions, most recently in February 2008. During his last visit, JBU announced an anonymous donor had established the “Billy Graham & Ruth Bell Graham Evangelism Endowed Scholarship.” The scholarship is awarded each fall to a student who has expressed interest in pursuing a career as an ambassador for Christ with an emphasis in evangelism. 

Franklin is the author and co-author of several books, including “Rebel with a Cause,” “All for Jesus,” “A Wing and a Prayer” and “The Name,” among others.


Seating and Parking

The chapel service is open to the public, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first serve basis. It is a chapel service so parents are requested not to bring small children.

Handicap parking is available near the arena. Additional parking will be available near the Berry Performing Arts Center and in the City trail parking lot on Valley Rd.
