Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 14, 2011) — The JBU women’s volleyball team in conjunction with Kind at Heart Ministries will host a benefit event on Saturday, February 5th at 5:30 p.m. at Bill George Arena to help local middle school volleyball team member Katy Clason.

Sixteen-year-old Katy was not disabled until recently, when she began having symptoms that were hard to explain.  After many tests and hospital stays, doctors believe she may have “Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy”, a chronic progressive disease which is characterized by severe pain and swelling.

During the benefit, the JBU women’s volleyball team will take on each of the following four teams, playing to 25 points each:

- The JBU men’s club team
- A JBU alumni team
- The Siloam Spring Fire Department
- A team known as the “JBU VolleyBros”

Katy’s story will be shared at 6 p.m., and again at 7 p.m. on that night, during intermission.

Admission for the games will be $2.00 or $5.00 for dinner with the games.

For more information on the event contact Kind at Heart Ministries’ Pastor Wayne by phoning 479-238-4608 or emailing servant@KindAtHeart.org, or contact JBU volleyball coach Stacie Johnson by emailing sdjohnson@jbu.edu or by phoning 479-524-7343.
