Sophomore Jessica Berlin had seven threes against SAGU, two short of JBU's school record.

The JBU women's basketball team is now 3-2 after their win on Saturday against Southwest Assemblies of God (Texas) 60-36.

Sophomore Jessica Berlin led JBU with 23 points followed by fellow sophomore Sierra Shipley with 14.  Berlin had seven threes, two short of the JBU women's single-game record.  Shipley had five.

For SAGU (3-3), Andrea Lugo led with 12 points followed by Nia Winston with 10.

The Lady Eagles began the first half strong, eventually leading by 27 points before ending the half ahead 38-15.

In the second half, JBU continued to hold their lead despite a strong effort from SAGU.  SAGU scored 21 second half points to JBU’s 22.

JBU won't have a long rest, as they open conference play on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Rogers State (Texas).
