Eagles soar over Chaps

The JBU men’s basketball team beat Lubbock Christian (Texas) 81-65 Thursday night at Bill George Arena.
JBU’s overall record is now 8-1 and 1-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. LCU drops to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.
Four JBU players finished in double figures led by senior Andy Garcia with 21 points. Senior Adrian Miller followed with 20 points. Junior Coleson Rakestraw added 15, and junior Abel Galliguez finished with 12.
LCU had three players reach double digits in points. Rashad Sample had 21. Douglas Williams and Tyler Kennedy both finished with 12.
JBU quickly took control of the game in the first half and never looked back. After being down 12-17, Coleson Rakestraw scored a three-pointer sparking a 15-1 run. Up 32-24 at halftime, JBU was able to keep the lead the entire second half.
JBU finished the game hitting 50.0 percent (27-54) from the floor, while holding LCU to 33.9 percent (21-62).
Miller and Garcia both lead JBU in rebounds finishing with 12 each. LCU’s Douglas Williams was the only Chap to reach double digits in rebounds with 10. Miller finished with seven assists for JBU and LCU’s Rashad Sample finished with six.
The Golden Eagles look ahead to their match against Wayland Baptist Saturday, Dec. 3. Tip-off is at 3 p.m.
