The Golden Eagles return to the court on Thursday against the Wayland Baptist Pioneers in Plainview, Texas, at 8 pm. The Eagles then head to Lubbock Christian to face the Chaparrals on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm in Lubbock, Texas.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES:  JBU currently sits at sixth in conference with a record of 5-5 in SAC play and 13-5 overall after a 71-56 loss to Oklahoma Christian last Saturday.

Senior forward Adrian Miller from Hernando, Miss. is JBU’s leading scorer at 14.17 ppg followed by junior guard Abel Galliguez from Sugarland, Texas with 12.50 ppg .  Senior Andy Garcia, a forward from the Bronx, N.Y., is currently the team’s leading rebounder with 6.88 rpg followed by Miler with 5.94 rpg.  The team as a whole currently averages 78.72 ppg and is at the top of the NAIA Division I in total defensive rebounds.  JBU is second in the division in total rebound margin and in 3-point field goal percentage.

The Eagles won against Wayland Baptist earlier this year with a final score of 87-78. 

JBU won their last game against Lubbock Christian as well with a final score of 81-65.

ABOUT THE WBU PIONEERS:  The Pioneers are currently 8-9 overall and 2-7 in conference, currently placing them at 10th in the SAC standings.  Their leading scorer is freshman forward Isaiah Jackson with 14.25 ppg followed by freshman center Robert Curtis with 13.25 ppg.  Curtis is the team’s top rebounder as well with 7.25 rpg followed by Jackson with 5.38.  The team averages 74.82 ppg while holding their opponents to 71.77 ppg. They are currently fourth in the NAIA in 3-point field goal percentage at 39.9 percent.

ABOUT THE LCU CHAPARRALS:  Lubbock Christian is currently eighth in the SAC with an overall record of 8-8, 4-5 in conference.   Their top scorer reigning SAC Player of the Week Rashad Sample, who averages 16.94 ppg, followed by senior guard Douglas Williams with 12.13 ppg.  Williams is leading the Chaparrals in rebounds with 6.06 rpg followed by sophomore forward Anthony Brancato with 5.56.  LCU currently averages 73.50 ppg while holding their opponents to 69.31.
