Women looking to move up in standings
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (February 9, 2012) — The Lady Golden Eagles will face Oklahoma Christian University on Thursday night on the road at 6 p.m. On Saturday they will play Northwestern Oklahoma State in the Bill George Arena at 3 p.m.
ABOUT THE LADY GODEN EAGLES: JBU currently sits at ninth in the SAC with a season record of 12-12, 6-10 in conference because of two wins this weekend against Southern Nazarene and the University of Science and Arts (Okla.).
Sophomore guard Sierra Shipley is JBU’s leading scorer with 11.91 ppg followed by fellow sophomore guard Jessica Berlin with 11.83 ppg. Senior point guard Chelsea Garrison is leading the team in rebounds with 4.92 rpg followed by freshman forward Morgan Ankrom with 4.71 rpg. As a team, the Lady Eagles have held their opponents to an average of 61.58 ppg while averaging 57.33 ppg.
ABOUT THE OC LADY EAGLES: OC is currently eleventh in the SAC with a record of 7-16, 2-14 in conference. They lost their last game 77-56 to Lubbock Christian (Texas). Senior guard Katy Clift is OC’s leading scorer with 13.70 points per game followed by junior center Katy O’Steen with 13.61. O’Steen is leading her team in rebounds with 5.44 per game followed by sophomore forward and center Roz Hamilton with 4.86. As a team, they average 70.17 points per game though they are outscored by their opponents who average 78.04.
ABOUT THE NOSU LADY RANGERS: NOSU won their last game against WBU with a final score of 77-63. The loss pushed Wayland down to the eight seed in the SAC. Their leading scorer is junior forward Audrey Richmond with 14.05 points per game followed by senior guard Talytha Williams with 11.62. Junior guard Renee Golliday is their leading rebounder with 6.48 per game followed by senior guard Titania Simmons with 4.91. NOSU’s averages 70.24 points per game while holding their opponents to 67.71.
