JBU Soccer Women Reach Top 25 in Nation
Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 23, 2003) — John Brown University’s women’s soccer team garnered enough points from the pollsters to enter the NAIA top 25 this week. Ranked number 24 and in the top 25 for the first time in the brief two year history of the program, JBU Coach Joe Thoma expressed excitement over the ranking. “This is a tremendous lift for our program. To make the top 25 in only the second year of existence is quite an accomplishment. I am proud of the gals and how they have worked so hard to get to this point.”
The 7-1 Golden Eagles have lost only to Northwood University who are currently ranked 6th in the NAIA poll and sport an 8-0 record. JBU is the top-ranked Sooner Athletic Conference team and will face conference opponent, Wayland Baptist University, this Saturday at 1 pm in the first conference women’s soccer game ever played at home.
