JBU Soccer Falls to Missouri Southern State College
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 1, 2003) — Missouri Southern State College handed John Brown University their second loss of the season on Wednesday afternoon in Siloam Springs outscoring the Golden Eagles 3-1.
MSSC started the scoring in the first period of play, but JBU answered that score less than 2 minutes later to knot the score at 1-1 going into the half. Freshman Phillip Davis scored the lone JBU goal with 38:50 remaining in the first period. MSSC came back in the second half to put the game out of reach with goals at 38:11 and 33:27 remaining in the game.
With the loss, JBU falls to 6-2-1 for the season and will open Sooner Athletic Conference play this Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma against St. Gregory’s University. The next home game for JBU will be October 11 for Homecoming and Southern Nazarene, another SAC team, will be the opponent.
