JBU Men’s Soccer Falls to Southern Nazarene University

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 11, 2003) — The 9th ranked NAIA Southern Nazarene University took away a chance for a Saturday afternoon Homecoming victory from the Golden Eagles. The Crimson Storm scored in both halves to take a 3-0 victory. It took only 1:20 in the first half for SNU to score their first goal and take a 1-0 lead. The Crimson Storm came back in the second half with two additional goals to ice the win.

Despite junior Pablo Fernandez’s seven saves, the SNU offense kept JBU off balance all afternoon. By keeping JBU scoreless their defense demonstrated why they are ranked 9th in the nation.

“This was a disappointing loss in front of a great homecoming crowd. We will have to regroup and play a tough USAO team on Wednesday afternoon,” stated Coach Bob Gustavson after the loss.

With the loss JBU is now 7-3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. JBU plays at home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm when they host conference foe Science of Arts of Oklahoma.
