JBU Soccer Places Two on NAIA All-Region Team

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 25, 2003) — Two athletes from John Brown University, senior midfielder Federico Suarez and junior goalkeeper Pablo Fernandez, have been named to the NAIA Region VI All-Region soccer team that includes 14 athletes from the Sooner Athletic Conference and the Red River Conference. Suarez led the Golden Eagles this season in shots (49), goals (11) and points (29) as the team won both the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship and the Region VI championship. Fernandez, from his goalkeeper position, allowed only 27 goals and had 90 saves in 20 games.

“Both these young men are a credit to our team and played huge roles in our success this season. They are very deserving of the honors they have received in the post-season,” commented Coach Bob Gustavson.
