House weighs accountability measure
(January 5, 2004) — (Little Rock-AP) -- Among the bills still pending in the Legislature is a plan to beef up school accountability. The comprehensive proposal would greatly expand standardized testing of students, and track individual student's yearly progress and grade school performance. The proposal has wide support among educators, the business community and legislators on both sides of the consolidation issue. The bill has been approved by the Senate.
