Didier Headlines as SAC Volleyball Player of the Week
OKLAHOMA CITY (September 3, 2012) — John Brown's Erin Didier is the headliner of the Sooner Athletic Conference Volleyball Honorees as Player of the Week for Aug. 27-Sept. 2.
Didier, a 6-foot-0 senior outside hitter from Littleton, Colo., led JBU to a 5-0 week with 4.06 kills per set and a .360 attack percentage. She also racked up 43 digs, three aces and five blocks.
"I can't stress enough how much this award is a team effort," explained Didier, whose 73 total kills sparked JBU to wins over College of the Ozarks (Mo.) and Evangel (Mo.), both of whom received votes in the latest Tachikara-NAIA polls. "It is such an honor and I know that a lot of hard work and effort went into it, not only myself, but also by my teammates.
"We played incredible as a team this weekend and we continue to get better. I think this honor represents that."
Didier will now enter a pool of other conference Player of the Week winners, seeking an NAIA National Player of the Week nomination.
The Golden Eagles will look to continue its strong play as it heads into the Baker (Kan.) Invitational this weekend. The slate includes Baker, Graceland (Iowa), Benedictine (Kan.) and Friends (Kan.). The tournament is slated for Sept. 7-8.
