OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (October 8, 2012) — Oklahoma Baptist University’s Paula Vicenzo and John Brown University’s Kristen Morency have been named Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Oct. 1-7.

Morency, a freshman goalkeeper from Wheaton, Ill., had six saves in a 1-0 shutout over USAO. It was Morency’s fourth solo shutout of the season. Morency has now figured in each JBU decision this season, posting a 6-3-0 record in her first season as a Golden Eagle.

Morency boasts an impressive .783 save percentage in addition to a 1.180 goals against average.

Vicenzo, a freshman forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, had three goals in wins over Wayland Baptist and Lubbock Christian, with two coming in the victory over LCU. Among the two against Lubbock Christian was a game-winner that helped put the Lady Bison alone in first place in the SAC standings. She leads the SAC with 1.44 goals per game.
