JBU Men’s Soccer Signs Texas Striker
Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 26, 2002) — Kyle Carter of Whitehouse, Texas has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for John Brown University. Carter, a 6’2” striker, attended Grace Community High School where he participated in soccer, basketball, cross-country, tennis and track. Carter was named All-State in cross-country and soccer. He was also a member of the state champion soccer team in 2001.
“Kyle is a very athletic and smart soccer player. He has had a lot of success on the teams he has played for while earning All-State honors for himself. I think he will add enthusiasm to our team, especially up front where we are trying to replace our top goal scorers from last season. Kyle should give us quite a bit of offensive punch and athleticism. I am very eager to begin working with Kyle,” said coach Bob Gustavson.
Carter is the son of Bill and Cathy Carter of Whitehouse, Texas. He plans to major in broadcasting at John Brown University.
John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of over 1,600 students from 45 states and 33 countries. JBU is a member of the Arkansas Independent Colleges and Universities as well as the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
