Arkansas soldiers headed to Iraq

(March 1, 2004) — (Fort Polk, Louisiana-AP) -- An advance group of Arkansas soldiers headed to Kuwait this weekend to prepare for the arrival of nearly three-thousand more Arkansas troops scheduled for deployment to Iraq this month. About 250 members of the 39th Infantry Brigade left Louisiana, Saturday on a commercial flight bound for Kuwait. Arkansas first lady Janet Huckabee, Lieutenant Governor Winthrop Rockefeller and U-S Representative John Boozman were on hand to send the soldiers off.
