John Brown University Signs Texas Soccer Player

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 4, 2004) — Andrew Bradford, a 5’10” midfielder from Friendswood, Texas, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for John Brown University. Bradford was a Class 4A All-State player this past season for Friendswood High School, the District Champions with an overall record of 19-3-1. In addition to being on the All-State team, Bradford also was a member of the All-Region team, was 1st team All-Galveston County, 1st Team All-District and named District Newcomer of the Year..

Bradford is an honor student and has been a member of the National Honor Society for 4 years. His accomplishments on the soccer field and in the classroom are matched by his community and church service where he has assisted in Soup Kitchens, Canned-Food Drives and has taught Sunday school and been on a mission trip to the Cayman Islands.

Andrew plays club soccer for the Friendswood Fusion where he is the Co-captain of the team. His club team has participated in many U17 and U18 tournaments, winning the championship in 7 tournaments during the 2002 and 2003 club season. The most notable championship was the Texas Heat Wave S2 as the team was transitioning into D1.

Bradford plans to study engineering at John Brown University. He is the son of Ray and Nancy Bradford of Friendswood and has one brother, Hunter, a 15-year-old freshman in high school.
