Golden Eagle Women Swimmers Continue on Record Setting Pace

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 6, 2004) — The last events are scheduled for Saturday night and JBU women swimmers are continuing to set school records as score points at the NAIA National Swimming and Diving Championships in Lawrence, Kansas.

Through Friday’s finals, the JBU women has scored 111 points, good enough to remain in 5th behind the team leaders from Simon Fraser University with 406 points. Rounding out the top five through Friday were Cal Baptist in second with 3045, Translyvania University in third with 189, and Cumberland College in fourth with 167 points.

Kathleen Kubricht swam 59.57 in the 100 yard Butterfly to place 5th and to set a new JBU school record in the process. The old record of 1:01.40 was set last season by Kubricht.

The 200 yard Medley Relay team of Mariah Rose, Stephanie Burrell, Kubricht, and Lindsey Smith broke the JBU school record of 1:58.13 set in 2003 when they swam to a third place finish in a time of 1:52.17.
