Take Marion, please...

(March 19, 2004) — (Undated-AP) -- A trade delegation to Japan led by Governor Huckabee is due back in Arkansas tomorrow. Yesterday, the group met with the president of Toyota Motor Corporation, the company that passed over Arkansas as the site for a major auto plant in 2002. Huckabee and Fujio Cho met in Tokyo and discussed future prospects for the site in Marion that Toyota considered. The governor highlighted Marion's proximity to traffic corridors and Memphis, home of the world's largest air freight facility. As he has with other Japanese executives during his nine-day trade trip, Huckabee presented Cho with a painting of the Buffalo River in northern Arkansas. Huckabee and his entourage -- first lady Janet Huckabee and economic development officials -- have also met with leaders of Japanese companies currently doing business in Arkansas.
