Wal-Mart donates to healthcare system
(April 21, 2004) — (Rogers-AP) -- Bentonville-based Wal-Mart has donated five million dollars to a healthcare system in northwestern Arkansas that expects to open a new campus in 2007. The nonprofit Mercy Health System will receive the money over four years. Officials said they plan to use the donation for new technology and to build operational systems, learning labs and a technology information center. The system has so far collected 12 million dollars of its 40 million-dollar capital campaign goal.
