Arkansas targets young voters

(May 10, 2004) — (Undated-AP) -- Television commercials aimed at young Arkansas voters are airing in many cities and on Hispanic stations. Secretary of State Charlie Daniels started the 75-thousand-dollar campaign to get more young people to the polls. The ads are airing on cable stations M-T-V, E-S-P-N, V-H-One and B-E-T in cities with four-year colleges. Those locales are Arkadelphia, Conway, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Little Rock, Magnolia, Monticello, Pine Bluff, Russellville, Searcy and Texarkana. The advertisements are also on Hispanic stations and on regular television covering 35 counties in central Arkansas.
