Presidential art coming to Arkansas

(June 14, 2004) - (Little Rock-AP) -- The Arkansas Arts Center has arranged for an exhibition of art that has been displayed at the White House. The display will coincide with the opening of Bill Clinton's presidential library in Little Rock in November. The 39 pieces are scattered among various museums and private collections but will be brought together for the special exhibition. More pieces may be added. The Arkansas Arts Center worked for several months with the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and others. The exhibit will feature works by such masters as Claude Monet, Auguste Rodin, Georgia O'Keeffe, John Singer Sargent and John James Audubon.
