Little Rock remains under court supervision
(June 16, 2004) — (Little Rock-AP) -- The Little Rock School District has failed to make its case that it should be removed from federal court supervision of its compliance with a long-standing desegregation order. U-S District Judge William R. Wilson decided Tuesday to keep the district under court supervision in the decades-old desegregation case. But, the supervision only includes evaluations of certain programs. Wilson earlier released the district from most other aspects of the supervision. After almost two days of testimony, Wilson said district officials didn't fully evaluate and write reports on programs intended to help black students as ordered by the court.
