(June 25, 2004) — (Little Rock-AP) -- Governor Mike Huckabee yelled "hi-ya" and broke a board in two to welcome this year's American Taekwondo Association's world championships. The annual championships have been held in Arkansas for the past 35 years. This year, 30- thousand people from five continents are expected to attend. Huckabee wore the traditional white uniform of taekwondo competitors to the opening ceremonies. His uniform said Governor M. Huckabee on the back and was a few sizes too big because he received it last year, before he went on a diet and lost 105 pounds. Huckabee said the competition is the largest single convention or gathering in the state. There will be between five and six thousand competitors, plus their family and friends.
