Woodwinds, Strings and Some Jazzy Things on Stage Nov. 29

Siloam Springs, Ark (November 13, 2001) — A concert of woodwinds and strings launches John Brown University’s holiday season on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held in the Jones Recital Hall in JBU’s Cathedral of the Ozarks. In addition to featuring a jazz arrangement of “Angels We Have Heard On High,” students will perform a number of traditional Christmas carols and non-holiday selections.

Terri R. Wubbena, associate professor of music and head of the JBU music department, directs the Instrumental Ensemble. She says a unique aspect to the performance is that all but one of the selections use the original instrumentation as specified in the music.

The concert and a reception following are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the JBU music department at (479) 524-7265.
