The Golden Eagles defeated Evangel in four games
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 8, 2004) — JBU advanced to 24-5 after defeating Evangel University in four games on Thursday night (22-30, 30-26, 30-27, 30-19). The Golden Eagles had to play without Junior Elisa Evans, one of their leading middle hitters, who was out with an injury. However, Freshman Taylor Young stepped up to the challenge with 11 kills and 3 blocks. At the end of the match, Coach Robyn Gordon commented, “After a sluggish start, we were able to regain our focus and get our offense firing. It was good to get a win after coming off fall break and to help us with momentum going into this weekend." Three Golden Eagles posted double-doubles during the match. Sophomore Tatiane Silva had 20 kills and 16 digs; Senior Helen Gross had 14 kills, 17 digs, and 3 blocks; Sophomore Juliana Todescan had 45 assists, 14 digs, and 2 blocks.
