JBU moves to 27-7

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 22, 2004) — The Golden Eagles were defeated by Lubbock Christian University in three games (28-30, 24-30, 30-32) on Friday night. LCU is a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference and is one of the Golden Eagles’ biggest rivals. JBU started the match strong, but their offense was not consistent enough to maintain the lead. LCU played a fundamentally sound match and the Golden Eagles struggled to keep their rhythm. After the match, Coach Robyn Gordon commented, “We could have played more consistently throughout the match. We are looking forward to meeting them again at home on November 13 at the SAC Tournament.” Team leaders included Senior Meghann Wharton with 11 kills, 3 aces, and 3 blocks, Sophomore Tatiane Silva with 17 kills, Junior Elisa Evans with 9 kills and 3 blocks, Junior Christine Wells with 15 digs, and Sophomore Juliana Todescan with 40 assists.
