JBU Sweeps Region VI Weekly Honors
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 10, 2005) — Three John Brown Golden Eagles swept the NAIA Region VI volleyball awards this week after John Brown’s victories over College of the Southwest (N.M.) and Texas-Permian Basin. Tati Silva, a 5’8” senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was honored as Player of the Week for averaging 4.63 kills, 4.63 digs, and .88 aces per game. She also had a hitting efficiency of .293. Juliana Todescan, a 6’0” junior from Sao Paulo, was named Setter of the Week with 14.63 assists, 1.25 kills, and 2.5 digs per game, along with a .526 hitting efficiency. To round out the sweep, Christine Wells, a 5’7” senior from Red Oak, Tex., was awarded the Libero of the Week honor for averaging 7.75 digs and .38 aces per game and posting a 94% serve receive percentage.
