Fellow senior Alex Terry scored 18 points and contributed 8 assists to push him past 1,000 points and 700 assists in his career.
Cole hit three free throws at 15:25 in the first half after being fouled on a 3-point attempt and gave John Brown (16-12, 11-6 SAC) a 10-9 lead. The Golden Eagles never trailed after that. After leading 39-30 at halftime, John Brown pushed its lead to as many as 15 in the second half. After Cole’s history-making 3-pointer, the Golden Eagles survived an Oklahoma Christian run that cut their lead down to four before Cole converted two more free throws with 0:35 left.
