McCormick Named Kodak/WBCA All-American

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 21, 2006) — John Brown basketball player Kendra McCormick was named a 2006 Kodak/WBCA All-America Team honorable mention last week. The 6-1 senior forward from Siloam Springs averaged 16.1 points and 5.13 rebounds per game this season and led the Golden Eagles to a 20-12 overall record and a berth in the NAIA Division I Women’s National Championship. She was the only player from an Arkansas school to receive the honor.

Ten players were named to the Kodak/WBCA NAIA Division I All-America team, and McCormick was among just 19 more named as honorable mentions. In 2004, she was named to the NAIA All-America second team. In 2003, she was the Sooner Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year. She finishes her career at John Brown as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,793 points. She is a four-time All-Sooner Athletic Conference performer.

Kodak and the WBCA—the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association—have teamed up since 1983 to present All-America teams for the NAIA. Players are selected by committees in the WBCA’s six geographical regions. McCormick was selected out of Region 3.
