JBU Swimmers Named NAIA Scholar Athletes
Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 5, 2006) — John Brown University swimmers Jenny Brown and Gabrielle McCully have been named to the 2006 Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving All-America Scholar Athlete Teams.
Brown, a senior early childhood education major from Kingwood, Texas, is receiving the award for the second time. McCully is an academic junior in her second year of athletic eligibility. She is a biology major from Overland Park, Kan. This is her first Scholar Athlete award.
To receive All-America Scholar Athlete status, athletes must be juniors or above academically and maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Only 19 swimmers and divers nationally achieved the recognition this year.
