New Sports Information Director Joins JBU Team
Siloam Springs, Ark. (July 18, 2006) — John Brown University has hired former JBU athlete, Simeon Hinsey, as their new sports information director.
Hinsey graduated from JBU in 2002 with a double major in Digital Media and Broadcasting and has spent the past four years working for CBS affiliate, KFSM-TV, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Management, which he plans to complete in August.
John Brown athletic director Robyn Gordon commented, “We are extremely pleased to have Simeon back on campus and extremely excited to have a full time SID. Simeon’s background with the university and experience with the media should be a great asset in this role.”
“I’m glad to have this opportunity and to be able to give back to JBU after they gave me the opportunity to participate in college sports,” says Hinsey. “I don’t look at this as a new job but as a homecoming.”
During his time at JBU, Hinsey helped set a standard for JBU basketball through his scoring and passing. He is a member of the John Brown University 1000-point club and is currently 2nd all-time for career assists with 409.
