Volleyball Looks Good in Day One of Tournament

Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 15, 2006) — Golden Eagles volleyball opened day one of the Mid America Nazarene Tournament in winning fashion. In their first match, John Brown defeated Bethel (Ind.) 30-19, 24-30, 30-24, 30-25. Later in the evening, John Brown faced Kansas Wesleyan beating them in three sets, 30-26, 30-27, 30-19.

Senior, Sam Rogoff led the team in day one with 28 total kills. Following closely behind was sophomore Laurae Marty who chipped in 24 kills of her own. Juliana Todescan totaled 88 assists in both matches, and Brittany Moon had 6 aces.

On the defensive end, sophomore Aubrey Junker came up big with 29 digs, and senior Summer Cox had six blocks.

John Brown (4-9) will continue action on Saturday when they face Dana (Neb.) at 9 a.m., Indiana Wesleyan at 1 p.m., and Baker (Kan.) at 3 p.m.
