Men End Season with a Tie against 2nd Ranked SNU

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 31, 2006) — The Golden Eagles men’s soccer team closed out their season with a tie against 2nd ranked Southern Nazarene on Tuesday night. John Brown and SNU tied after double overtime, 1-1, giving JBU a final mark of 4-11-3 at the end of the regular season. The Crimson Storm picked up the first goal of the game at the 20:13 mark of the first half as Damian Gunaratne scored unassisted to put the Storm up 1-0. SNU led 1-0 at the half. John Brown tied the game at the 68:19 mark of the second half when Rodrigo Juliao scored off a Joel Storie assist, knotting the game at 1-1.

The game remained tied after two overtime periods.

SNU out shot the Golden Eagles, 27-20, including picking up 17 shots on goal to John Brown’s four.

In the goal, John Brown’s Spencer Watson collected 16 saves and SNU’s Jordan Lytle registered three.
