Dr. H. Norman Wright To Conduct Workshops

Siloam Springs, Ark (September 22, 1999) — The Center for Marriage and Family Studies at John Brown University is sponsoring a workshop titled "Helping Others at a Time of Loss, Crisis and Trauma" on Thursday, October 14, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Springdale.

This workshop will teach you how to teach and apply biblical principles in crisis and trauma situations. The content will focus on gaining new insights and those specific skills needed to increase individual maturity and effectiveness in ministry. This workshop will emphasize the biblical perspective and response to crisis situations.

The Center for Marriage and Family Studies is also hosting a workshop titled "How to Speak Your Spouse’s Language" on Saturday, October 16, 1999 from 8:29 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Dye Lounge on the John Brown University campus.

This one-day workshop will address topics such as how to understand and accept the uniqueness of your spouse, how to encourage and build up your spouse, and how to build intimacy in your marriage. Dr. Wright will utilize lecture, small group discussion, and individual interaction. "How To Speak Your Spouse’s Language" is designed to be a non-threatening and enjoyable time of learning, laughing, and growth.

Dr. H. Norman Wright, a licensed marriage, family, and child therapist and nationally known seminar speaker, lecturer, and author will conduct the workshops. Dr. Wright has taught graduate school for over twenty-five years, and is now the Director of Christian Marriage Enrichment and Pastor of Enrichment Resources at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in California. He also serves on the executive board for the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Advisory Board for Family Studies at Pepperdine University, and is a research professor in Christian Education at Talbot School of Theology in California.
