Men Fall in Conference Opener
Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 4, 2007) — John Brown University men’s basketball suffered their first loss of the conference schedule with a 60-52 loss to St. Gregory’s (Okla.) Terrell Theophile led St. Gregory’s (8-4, 1-1) with 11 points, while senior guard Adam Workman paced John Brown (9-4, 0-1) with 18.
Both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket with John Brown shooting only 36 percent (19-53) for the game. St. Gregory’s, however, shot 39 percent (22-57), which was the difference maker. John Brown did win the rebounding battle 42-34, but committed 25 turnovers to only 13 by St. Gregory’s.
Junior center Joel Tesis was the only other John Brown player in double figures with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
John Brown will return home this upcoming Saturday to face the number two ranked Stars of Oklahoma City at 8:00 p.m.
