Men Upended at Home

Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 19, 2007) — A 12 point halftime lead wasn’t enough to keep John Brown from losing 68-65 to No. 18 Lubbock Christian (Tex.) on Friday night. Max Edding led Lubbock Christian with 22 points. Senior Adam Workman had a game high 23 in the losing effort.

Lubbock Christian (10-6, 3-3) turned up the pressure in the second half and managed to go on a 13-4 run to open the half. At the 11:24 mark Bernardo Rocha would put Lubbock ahead 54-53 with a put back lay in. With 3:02 remaining Workman would launch a deep three that would cut Lubbock’s lead to four, 68-64. John Brown would have two opportunities to tie the game in the closing minute but came up short on both attempts.

The Golden Eagles managed to shoot 45 percent for the game but committed 21 turnovers, 14 coming in the second half, to only nine from Lubbock Christian.

John Brown will return to action when they travel to Bethany, Okla. on Thursday, Jan. 25 to take on Southern Nazarene at 8 p.m.
