Texas High School Standout Inks with JBU

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 7, 2007) — Ryland Allen of Everman, Tex. has signed a national letter of intent to play college basketball for John Brown University for the 2007-08 basketball season.

Allen, a 6-2 guard from Everman High School, is currently the leading scorer in Texas’ Class 4A averaging 24.3 points per game while shooting an impressive 44% (44-99) from beyond three-point range. His career and season high of 42 points came at the end of a record setting 9-of-12 three point shooting performance against Aledo (Tex.), a team they defeated 85-44 in early January.

As a junior in 2005-06, Allen was named District 15 4-A Most Valuable Player while leading his team to a 21-10 record.
