Lady Golden Eagles Fall to Seventh Ranked Lady Chaps

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 8, 2007) — The Lady Golden Eagles struggled on the road Thursday night falling 50-81 against # 7 Lubbock Christian (Tex.). Ashley Hunter led Lubbock Christian with a game high 23 while Paige Blackburn was the high scorer for JBU with 16.

Free throws and turnovers were the big difference makers in the game as Lubbock Christian (19-4, 10-2) attempted 22 more free throws than JBU. LCU was able to convert 29-of-30 attempts while JBU managed to hit five of their seven attempts. John Brown also committed 24 turnovers for the game to Lubbock Christian’s 11.

However, both teams were evenly matched in the other areas of the game. LCU shot 42 % from the floor while JBU shot 40 %, but John Brown edged out Lubbock Christian in the rebounding category 32-30.

With the loss the Lady Golden Eagles drop to 6-19 overall and 3-10 in Sooner Athletic Conference action. The team will return to action on Saturday to finish out their road trip against Wayland Baptist (Tex.) at 1 p.m.
