Women's Basketball Beats Cardinal Stritch

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 8, 2008) — The John Brown University women’s basketball team picked up another win over the weekend at the Ozarks (Mo.) Classic after defeating Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) 49-42.

Once again, junior Micaela Cully led JBU in scoring with 15 points. Sophomore Ashley Taylor also had a big day earning a double double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Chelsea Garrison also helped clean the glass grabbing 12 caroms.

CSU was led by Kayla Chapman with 11 points and three rebounds.

Overall, both teams struggled from the floor with JBU (3-0) only nailing 27% (13-49) of its attempts while holding CSU (1-1) to 16 % (11-68).

The ladies return home on Monday to face Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
