Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 22, 2009) — The JBU Lady Golden Eagles came up on the short end of a 72-64 decision after falling in Sooner Athletic Conference action to No. 16 Southern Nazarene (Okla.) at home on Thursday night.

Sophomore Ashley Taylor led JBU (10-9, 4-7) with 22 points and five boards in the loss. Micaela Cully and Chelsea Garrison added 11 and 10 points respectively.

For SNU (15-3, 8-2), three players finished in double digits led by Lana Keith’s 22 points. Kinzie Didier and Logan Martin finished with 20 and 16 respectively.

SNU held onto a six point, 35-29, lead heading into the break.

JBU hung around in the second half and was able to take a three-point, 53-50, lead after a Taylor layup with 10:14 left in the game.

At 4:41 SNU managed to tie things at 61. Next few possessions, SNU was able to force several JBU turnovers and convert on the other end.

The Golden Eagles were forced to send SNU to the line where they knocked them down to seal the win.

For the game, JBU finished 23-of-48 (47.9%) and 6-of-18 (33.3%) from three. The ladies grabbed 30 boards for the game but committed 19 turnovers.

For SNU, they finished 24-of-52 (46.2%) and 7-of-16 (43.8%) from three land. SNU grabbed 27 rebounds and only committed 14 rebounds.

Up next, JBU returns home on Saturday to face Science and Arts of Okla. for a 2 p.m. matchup.
