Peirano Breaks Record in Win Over LeTourneau

Siloam Springs, Ark (October 28, 2000) — John Brown University junior Leo Peirano broke the JBU single season goal record with his 30th goal of the season in a 8-2 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday. JBU is ranked 21st in the NAIA and has won eight of their last nine games. The Golden Eagles clinched second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference and the right to host the NAIA regional against Oklahoma City University at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. JBU is now 12-6 on the season and 7-3 in the SAC.

Peirano, a native of Monevideo, Uruguay, was an NAIA All-American selection last season as a sophomore. The record of 28 goals was previously held by former Golden Eagle All-American Terry Brown.
