Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 3, 2009) — JBU’s women’s soccer team improved to 2-0 in conference action on Saturday afternoon after blanking St. Gregory’s (Okla.) 6-0 on Homecoming Day at Alumni Field. The win lifts JBU to 5-4 overall.

The ladies scored early and never looked back after that. Sarah Kidd tallied the first goal in the 6th minute and had a follow up performance in the 38th off the pass from Anne Stringfield to give JBU the 2-0 lead.

Kidd returned the favor just before half after swinging a beautiful cross to Hannah Toldt who headed it in to Stringfield at the six for the shot and 3-0 cushion heading into the break.

In the second half, JBU continued to pour on the heat never giving SGU (3-6, 0-2) a clean shot at goal.

JBU scored again in the 52nd when Camille Malkiewicz slotted a pass to Robyn Cluka for the boot in. Nearly 15 minutes later, JBU struck again with an unassisted rocker from Alex McMichael in the 67th. Junior Ashleigh Noble put on the finishing touches in the 76th with Stringfield notching her second helper of the day.

Faith Thurman and Brittany Henderson split time and keeper with each getting credit for the shutout.

JBU out shot SGU 26-2 with a 15-0 shots-on-goal advantage.

JBU heads back on the road this week when they travel to Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. tilt before heading to Oklahoma City for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
