Oklahoma City (October 21, 2009) — Both JBU men’s and women’s soccer teams picked up easy road wins in Sooner Athletic Conference action after defeating Mid-America Christian on Wednesday afternoon. The men won 3-0 while the women cruised to another 4-0 shutout.

In women’s action, four different players found the back of the net for JBU (9-5, 6-1). Robyn Cluka, Jodi Knack, Amanda Reed, and Ashley Cecil netted goals in the 28th, 42nd, 61st, and 89th minutes respectively. Cluka also had two assists.

Faith Thurman posted the shutout after turning away four shots on goal.

In men’s action, JBU (10-5-1, 4-2-1) scored three times in the first period en route to the shutout. Caleb Theimer, Justin Thompson, and Gabriel Duarte each struck within the first 20 minutes of action for the Golden Eagles. Josh Baldwin picked up an assist on Theimer’s goal.

Ryan Helmer tallied two saves.

Both squads continue conference play when they travel to Science & Arts of Okla. on Saturday. The women play at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m.
