Netters fall to OBU

Shawnee, Okla. (October 22, 2009) — The JBU women’s volleyball team was handed a 1-3 (21-25, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25) loss against Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night in Shawnee. The loss drops the women to 18-8 overall and 4-4 in the SAC.

A trio of JBU players posted double-digit kills. Erin Didier had 13 followed by Kirsten Lee and Amber Wilson with 10 each. Alyssa Hanson had 23 assists to go along with two services aces. As a team, JBU had a hitting efficiency of .140.

Defensively, Shannon Proctor picked up 27 digs and Wilson had five blocks.

Tamy Leipelt led OBU (24-8, 6-4) with 16 kills. As a team, the Bison had a hitting percentage of .150.

JBU will return to action on Saturday at home when they host a doubleheader. They face St. Gregory’s (Okla.) in Sooner Athletic Conference play at 1 p.m. and then take on Texas Wesleyan in non-conference action at 3 p.m.
