Chickasha, Okla. (December 5, 2009) — The JBU men’s basketball team dropped an 85-65 decision on Science & Arts of Okla. on Saturday night in Chickasha. With the win, JBU improves to 9-1 overall, and 2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

JBU had a balanced scoring attack led by junior Andrius Mikutis with 22. Davaughn Jackson posted 14, Ryland Allen 11, and Adrian Miller and Coleson Rakestraw both had 10.

USAO (2-4, 0-1) got 14 from freshman Mike Randle.

For the game, JBU shot 57.1 percent (32-56) including 50 percent (11-22) from long range, while holding USAO to 34.5 percent (20-58) overall and 25.9 percent (7-27) from the three point line.

“I’m proud of the way our guys responded after Thursday night’s loss,” said head coach Clark Sheehy. “I challenged them after the game and they came out and played well tonight.”

The men now look ahead to a rematch against Rogers State (Okla.), a team they defeated earlier in the year 85-75, on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
