Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 8, 2010) — The John Brown University athletic department hosted two community day events during the past two women’s and men’s basketball games. On both days, fans received free admission to the JBU games after making a donation to local charities.

"We appreciate everyone that was able to assist and make a donation," said JBU Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty. "As a member of the Siloam Springs community, we feel it’s very important to give back and do our part to help those in need whenever we have the chance to."

On Tuesday, the department presented winter clothing items to the Genesis House in Siloam Springs that were collected at Monday night’s game. And on Friday, over 50 pounds of peanut butter and jelly collected at Thursday night’s contest, were donated to the Manna Center.

Every year, JBU athletics hosts several community day events to help lend a hand to local charities in the community.
