Thoma gets national recognition
Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 19, 2010) — John Brown University women’s soccer coach Joe Thoma received an Award of Merit while attending the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) convention in Philadelphia this past weekend.
Having served as the president of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women’s Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) for the past two years, Thoma has helped ensure the success of the NAIA’s Women’s Soccer National Tournament while supporting coaches around the country.
“I’m really proud to have served in this capacity,” said Thoma. “It’s been a pleasure assisting coaches around the nation while helping to maintain a high level of professionalism and quality at the national tournament.”
Earlier in the school year, Thoma was also named Sooner Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after leading JBU to a regular season title this past season.
